Pipe Spools, And By Extension Entire Pipeline Systems, Are
Prone To Corrosion And Degradation. There Are Two Common
Ways To Protect Pipelines Against Such Occurrences:
1. Applying A Protective Corrosion Resistant Coating, Such As
An Epoxy Coating, During The Manufacturing Process.
2. Performing Routine Inspections With Pipeline Pigs To Check
For Cracks And Corrosion While The Pipeline Is In Operation.
Pipe Spools Are Fabricated Using Raw Pipes And Pipe Fittings
(flanges, Elbows, Tees, Etc.) The Raw Pipes Are Cut To
Predetermined Sizes That Are Compatible With The Pipe
Fittings And Other Components.
The Pipe Spooling Process Is Made Up Of Two Main Sections:
1. Roll Fitting And Welding
2. Permanent Position Fitting And Welding
